Supergirl's Season 2 Premier = Sucks

So I watched Supergirl last night. So many emotions... so many bad emotions. So here is an impromptu, badly written review.

[Spoilers are bound to be in this rant]

I completely understand that CBS gave the show to CW in hopes that it would bring up the ratings since all of the other DC tv shows are on CW now (with a couple exceptions). And I understood that the writers for the first season weren't the brightest, But seriously? They can seriously only get better from this point on.

Let me start with how Superman is pulled into this show. For the entire first season, they put him on the back burner and used the excuse that he was trying to let Kara/Supergirl spread her wings and fly on her own (pun intended). They literally threw him in the storyline. It was not a clean or smooth act needless to say. The writers could have made his inclusion a lot more smoother and one that actually makes sense if they just said he was there to help the sisters find their father and figure out who the feller was in the ship. Use the number one rule that all creatives use. KISS - keep it simple stupid.

Next issue -- Kara's boss, Cat Grant, is all of a sudden the opposite of her normal feministic nature. Her character fell apart with the introduction of Clark Kent. *facepalm* And then in the middle of a conversation with Kara, whom she has always insisted and continually mispronounced her name, is now saying it correctly.

They introduced a new location for the DEO and swept the whole confusion, BS under the rug within 3 lines. "It's always been here." "The DEO has many locations around the world." They even tried to throw humor in it as Supergirl says "I was bitten by a bat in that cave" which really doesn't make much sense if you think about it. Would Supergirl even feel a bite? lol

Anyway, there is SOOOOO much wrong with this episode. It was like the writers had NO idea how to deal with the last season's issues so they decided to throw it in a blender and hopes it blend. It was badly written. Threw way too much at the viewers where a newb to the show would have turned it off within 5 minutes and a veteran would wait at least 15 minutes into. For the first time, I am completely against this Superman because he simply doesn't fit the persona nor the story (with the exception of when Nicholas Cage almost became Superman). I'm really hoping this show gets better within the next couple of episodes. Otherwise, I wouldn't be surprised if it was cancelled mid-season which would be a huge shame because they had so much potential with such a powerful female character to start with.
