[Updated June 22, 2014] INTRODUCTION
Well before I get started with the review. I would like to give you all a bit of a background about Reeven: Reeven was established as a small office in Taiwan back in 2009, with a group of experienced and passionate engineers. Reeven is one of the suppliers of high performing computer components, holding numerous top-grade reviews and ratings. It’s been 8 years and Reeven may not be as well known as the other power houses in the PC industry like Noctua and Cryorig, but they have a large customer base around the world and have a huge fan following. Those who have used their products will undoubtedly tell you that Reeven products are outstanding, From beginners to enthusiasts, Reeven have products to cater for their needs.
This year during Computex they also announced their new Closed Loop RGB 240mm liquid coolers, NAIA and their first RGB, stand-alone, multi-color, 120mm PWM fans, KIRAN. As well as new and improved versions of their long time best selling coolers the HANS Oran-RGB CPU cooler and the AM4 ready OURANOS AERO.
Now onto the review.
Cooling is an integral part of PC building these days, as time passes, CPU manufacturers, like AMD and Intel, release more powerful CPUs into the market. These CPUs give us the much needed performance boost that we require from gaming, content creation, or simply just everyday use. And with that comes heat. Providing the CPU with efficient cooling is vital for it's long lifespan.
Today we will be looking at one of the ways to cool your CPU AIR COOLING. A dual tower, behemoth of a cooler, the (RC-1402) Okeanos.

(RC-1402) OKEANOS is the flagship twin-tower air cooler for Reeven. Its comes with dual radiator, dual fan design with 6 heatpipes. Optionally, a third fan can be added to maximize cooling capability. The (RC-1402) OKEANOS the ideal choice for overclockers and gamers.

PACKAGING

The (RC-1402) Okeanos comes in a Navy blue box, on the front there is "Don't think, feel it." written, right below the REEVEN logo. With the photo of the beautiful cooler in the center and a small list of details about the product at the bottom.

A turn to the left there is yet another image of the (RC-1402) Okeanos at a slightly different angle and below it images of the dual fans, dual radiator design and nickel-plating.

The back has the cooler specifications in seven different languages. With the contact details for the company given underneath.

Yet another turn and you see a list of the cooler's socket compatibility. Below if you will find to images of the cooler with its dimensions. At the bottom a list of precautions to take into account while installing the cooler.

I was also sent an AM4 upgrade kit. So I will be able to enjoy this cooler even after I get myself a Ryzen processor.
Inside the box on the left there is a box containing the 120mm fan, then the first tower of the cooler, in the center a box with the accessories, then the second tower and finally the 140mm fan. I received the cooler undamaged, so if you plan to buy the cooler in the future, the there is a very high probability that you will get it undamaged.

CLOSER LOOK The (RC-1402) Okeanos is compatible with all current Intel sockets except the new 2066 socket announced during Computex 2017. Itis compatible with all AMD sockets (since AM2) and is even compatible with the new AM4 socket, but will require the free upgrade kit. However it will not support the new TR4 socket for the Threadripper CPUs. HEATSINK The overall dimensions of the (RC-1402) Okeanos, including its 1145 grams of weight, 140mm of width, 163 mm of height, and the 135 mm from the front edge of the intake fan to the back edge of the second fin stack. Both towers are topped with a one millimeter thick, brushed aluminum plate. The fin stacks consist of fifty-seven aluminum fins, which are about 0.3mm thick, and are pressed onto the heat pipes. The (RC-1402) Okeanos comes with four 6mm heat pipes, and two 8mm heat pipes in the center. These are made of copper and are nickel-plated to appeal aesthetically, and to help fight corrosion. The two-part copper base is nickel-plated along with the pipes.

The cooler comes with two identical fin stacks in this design. The heat pipes run through the fin stacks.
There are two thick pipes in the middle, and two thinner ones on either side. The cooler is evenly distributed to either side of the base, so the cross bracket can evenly support it against the socket.

The center pipes do majority of the work, running through the center of the cooler where most of the air flow is concentrated. The thinner pipes, they run out wide, and are much closer to the outer edges.

FANS In the box, you will find a 120mm, RM1225S18B-P, sleeve bearing fan used as the front fan. This fan is specified to spin in a speed range of 300 to 1800 RPM, delivering up to 92.5 CFM. The 140mm fan for the middle of the towers is the RM1425S17B-P. This fan will spin in the range of 300 to 1700 RPMs, delivering up to 92.4 CFM of airflow.

With the smaller fan in the front there is an improved RAM clearance but not by much. The center 140mm fan, sits lower in the cooler without raising the overall height of the cooler. The the power delivery systems on the motherboard should be able to get a decent supply a good amount of air as well.

There was sufficient information provided in the documentation for me to install the Cooler without much issues, however, if this is your first time, you may have some trouble. Fortunately you can always go to their website where an instructional video is provided to make the fan installation a breeze.
I totally forgot to take photo of the installation photos. So please do forgive me for that. However I am planning to do an installation video of the (RC-1402) Okeanos in the near future. PRICING The (RC-1402) Okeanos currently retails at USD$76.99. Compared to its other dual tower counterparts like: Noctua NH-D15 - USD$89.95 CRYORIG R1 Ultimate - USD$89.99 (which I own) be quiet! DARK ROCK PRO 3 Silentwings - USD$84.90. The (RC-1402) Okeanos is quite competitively priced. If IT can keep up with the R1 Ultimate, that near $13 price difference will surely be in Reeven’s favour.
Test System Setup
Motherboard - MSI Z170A Gaming9 Ack CPU - Intel 6700k Memory - Corsair Vengeance LPX 2 x 8GB DDR4-2133 GPU - 2 x MSI - Radeon RX 480 8GB ARMOR 8G OC PSU - EVGA - SuperNOVA NEX 750W 80+ Gold
THERMAL RESULTS Testing Procedure All testing is done at a room temperature of 28°C, with a 1°C margin of error. The coolers are tested with Turbo enabled 4.0 GHz while idle, or clock up to proper speeds under stock and overclocked conditions. The retail Intel Core i7-6700K I use for testing at stock is set to load-optimized defaults with the CPU's voltage at a static 1.15 V. Overclocked, the processor is running at 4.4 GHz on the CPU, with respective voltages set to 1.25 V. During all these tests, fans are set to run at 100% in the BIOS, with temperatures being recorded by AIDA64. The idle test will consist of the CPU sitting idle at the desktop for 60 minutes. This will allow for a stable temperature reading that will be recorded at the end of those 60 minutes. AIDA64's CPU test represent typical multi-threaded loads and offers consistent results, with one being a bench-marking application and the other a stability test. Both are run for 60 minutes before the peak reading during the test is recorded and taken as the result. This test lets enthusiasts know what temperatures they can expect to see with games and applications.

The Reeven (RC-1402) Okeanos does well at Idle, doing better than the R1 Ultimate at idle, it's easy to see the (RC-1402) Okeanos doing extremely well by comparing favorably to Cryorig's more expensive R1 Ultimate at loads. Pushing a heavier workload with AIDA64's CPU stability test has the Reveen cooler again proving itself as it once again doing better than the R1 Ultimate. Using AIDA64's stability test to push CPU load levels to the maximum, it becomes clear that Reeven has a winner on their hands with the (RC-1402) Okeanos as it again manages to rival the R1 Ultimate while being more affordable. SOUND TESTS I did not have proper equipment to measure the sound levels at the time of testing. But in all of the testing the Cryorig R1 Ultimate was clearly quieter than the (RC-1402) Okeanos. However not by a large margin. Even when a bit more audible the (RC-1402) Okeanos was by now means annoying to listen to. Using the noise adaptors really helps a lot. So unless you don’t an aeroplane running in your case. You will need to use those adaptors. CONCLUSION The Reeven (RC-1402) Okeanos has an MSRP of $76.99. PROS Top-tier performance Easy to install Affordable price compared to other high-end air coolers Noise levels can be improved with included adapters Fan clips for third fan included Good looks CONS Loud at full load - without fan speed adapters
Abysmal amount of Thermal grease provided
(Edit: Received an email from Reeven, by will be providing more Thermal Grease in their packaging from the future.) Yellow fans are not for everyone This cooler coming from the recently formed company competes with one of the best-performing air cooler on the market, offering top-tier performance that rivals the likes of Cryorig’s R1 Ultimate while also being more affordable. This favors the (RC-1402) Okeanos since it has a retail price of just $76.99, making it a cheaper option compared to almost every other high-end air cooler on the market. Add to that its unique, easy-to-use set of mounting hardware and you end up with a winning combination. Oh, did I mention they made sure to include extra fan clips for installing a third fan? The (RC-1402) Okeanos' unique looks (I do like those yellow fans), will make it an attractive cooler who will love those bright yellow fans. However, there are some issues with this cooler. The (RC-1402) Okeanos is not the cooler for you if you are planning on using High Profile RAM Sticks. This cooler can be noisy. If you use the included fan-speed adapters, it's near silent; however it does affect the performance, though it is quite minimal. Another issue is that it does get quite close to the first expansion slot, so please do be quite mindful when picking your motherboard with this cooler. I was quite disappointed with the amount to thermal grease provided, knowing that Noctua and Cryorig provide an entire tube of Thermal Paste, is quite disappointing to see that small plastic wrapper. (Edit: Reeven will rectify this issue. Very impressive, it just shows that Reeven are listening to their customers. ) If you make a mistake when applying TIM on the CPU, you will be so out of luck. Finally, the yellow fans, those vibrant, catchy fans, are a love it or hate it aspect. It can be a huge pro and con depending on the person. In my own experience with the Reeven (RC-1402) Okeanos, using the included fan-speed adapters makes for a quiet cooler that performs extremely well. I would actually go as far as to recommend installing them for that very reason. Performance does suffer, but not to a serious degree, and the near silent experience is just golden. Overall, Reeven had done an outstanding job with the (RC-1402) Okeanos by offering exceptional performance, versatility, and good looks at a relatively affordable price for an enthusiast-grade CPU cooler.
