Cooler Master Sickle Flow 120mm 2000RPM Case Fan: Budget Friendly Quality Fan

I wanted to bring a budget friendly fan to the table in this review. This fan has served me well and continues to perform VERY well in my case. As a matter of fact, I use six of these. There are three on the left of my desk/mod and three on the right. (I am in no way an exceptional or even average modder. I just like things "different") Pull in from the left and exhaust on the right. It is my experience that push/pull configurations have offered the best cooling solutions.
I had built a desk that had the computer inside. It was made of pine and the top was ½ inch glass. As we all know, wood does not conduct heat very well so it can be easily trapped. In my original setup, I had some led fans that I had “frankensteined” from numerous cases. (Ya, frankensteined! 😉) It didn’t work out as the highest rated fan was 1200 rpm and there were only two of those. My AMD FX-8350 was running in the mid 60’s at idle and shutting down under load. I honestly hadn’t considered air flow as being a problem! Six 120mm fans! How can that be? Low cfm (cubic feet per minute) fans. Not enough air was being moved across to pick up the heat and then drawn out of the other side. I was a newb to the science of air cooling. I researched and found these. After all, I was cooling my CPU with a Hyper 212 Evo which was very efficient and even better with a push/pull configuration and these were by the same company. I even installed dust filters so there would be little cleaning maintenance and it has made no difference in operation!

The Sickle Flows come in non-led 120mm @1200 rpm or non-led and blue or red led 120mm @2000 rpm. They come wired as 3-pin but also have a 4-pin adapter and 4 screws. Life expectancy is about 50,000 hours but these will push 69.69 cfm and have made a huge difference in my temps! I idle at 32c and 55c under load! Quite a difference. If you’re worried about noise, they are rated at 19db but I have a whole home humidifier and six-year-old that make much more noise! LOL! Worth it for the temperatures I now enjoy. They are currently on Amazon for $8.76 and $7.49 on Newegg. They are worth it, in my humble opinion! Not one of my six has so much as ticked or squalled and I am quite pleased with the look as I did not want too garish a light display in my desk! There are many beautiful RGB fans, longer life-expectancy fans, etc., but for the price, I just can’t find a better buy and as a modder, I will always try new products for different modding applications and under a strict budgets. These will go into any of my builds that require a 120mm case fan.
Thank you to Dot and GTribe once again for the opportunity to share what little knowledge I have in budget gaming, modding, and technology. This is a real pleasure!
