If you're an Xbox gamer, you have probably heard about Microsoft's new initiative to bring to reality cross platform play. This past year, they have decided to start allowing gamers to experience this awesome new feature, that has been on wishlists of gamers for a long time. Granted, I have learned from playing with Resident Evil 7 that there's still a bit to do to truly be cross platform though. I will start with the cons first and get that out of the way. It only works if you buy the digital title of the game that can only be found on the Microsoft Xbox storefront. Basically, any digital title you buy from Xbox that is labeled "Xbox Play Anywhere" can be played from your Xbox One or Windows 10 PC. So far, they only have a handful of games which can be found at this link.
Time for the "pros"! With this feature, I can literally play the same game from my laptop when I'm away from home. But when I get home, I can play the same game on my Xbox One without losing the save. It's amazing! My thoughts: it's still rather new and has plenty of room for improvement. I cannot wait to see what other titles will be coming. I am also rather hopeful to see competing companies do in response. Will we one day FINALLY see the ability to play the same game from multiple platforms against other gamers?
